Information received in January, 2007 from Alice Lawter, Melborne, Florida updates the John David Martin Laughter and Phoebe Ellen Norwood family. One change was to modifiy Phoebe's middle name from Ellender to Ellen. Alice Lawter also says:

"John David Martin Laughter first married Mitilda ? , abt 1871 and had three children as shown. After his marriage to Ellen, the spelling changed to Lawter. They had six children: Viola, Paul, McKinley, Theodore, John and Daniel."

An earlier posting here had shown the possibility of two other children: Simpson (Laughter) Lawter and Pinkney (Laughter) Lawter belonging to John David and Ellen but the new info discounts that.
