We once again find that there are no FREE lunches

Tripod has many advantages over other servers offering FREE web space. More disk storage, more tools, better tools, and better support (they actually answer e-mails). However, there are some significant disadvantages...

One such disadvantage is:

To meet requirements of the Tripod server we were forced to breakdown the Laughter Tree into smaller segments (Tripod's maximum page size: 200KB, the old Laughter Tree: 420KB). The 'page' now consists of 11 pages -- generation 01 through 11. This eliminates the ability to use the FIND option to search the entire Tree with a single FIND. We wanted to add a SEARCH capability to permit a search of the entire Laughter Tree with a single entry (which would produce 'clickable' links to each 'hit'). But, alas, Tripod's available tools do not support it. We were forced to compromise...

If you are looking for names -- dates, places, etc. -- SEARCH is a multi-step process. First, you must determine the file names for all pages containing the word, date, etc., and then do a FIND on each page. The SEARCH box below will produce a clickable list of all files containing the search argument entered. If you click on the links produced, you will get the page and be able to perform FIND within the page. HOWEVER, the hyper-links on the page will NOT work. You will need to take note of the page names from the search results, then use the BACK button to return to this HOME page. From here you can go through the regular sequence to take full advantage of hyper-links. Sorry for the inconvenience but that's all that is currently available (for free) from Tripod.

To find all pages with names -- dates, places, etc. -- that you have in mind, enter an argument in the Search box and either click on each link that is produced.... OR -- to take advantage of the hyper-links built into the pages -- take note of page (file) names and return here to go through the pages in the regular manner.
