Irwin Moore Laughter

Irwin Moore Laughter was a Boatswain's Mate in the Navy and was wounded trying to reach Mazatlan, Mexico for officers to confer with the American Consul. The officers and crew of the U.S.S. Annapolis and U.S.S. Yorktown erected a monument on the grounds of the Jackson Co. Court House, Edna, Texas:

'In memory of Irwin Moore Laughter
Killed at Mazatlan, Mexico while fighting valiantly against Mexico. His courage and devotion to duty were worthy of the most glorious traditions of the Navy.'
