The investigative PANEL consisted of only two members:

DICK THORNBURGH: Republican; Attorney General in Ronald Reagan's first administration, former Governor of Pennsylvania and a former prosecutor. However, the public now learns (Jan. 15th) that Thornburgh's present law firm is often retained by CBS for legal work not related to Rathergate.

LOUIS D. BOCCARDI: Although retired, was formally the head of the Associated Press and in that capacity would have had a long standing relationship with CBS and executives at the network.

They wanted evidence of political bias to go beyond ALL DOUBT!
